I’ve just suffered six weeks of baby-induced sleep deprivation so I feel I’ve earned the right to do a little bragging on the Baby Blog.

Here’s my darling little Orion, champion sleeper and avid smiler. She’s sporting a stylish bodysuit that Teagan, James and Ella gave her as a gift. It’s a beautiful outfit from Alex & Charli, with a bold flower appliqué on the front and a cute little pink one on her bum.

I particularly like this bodysuit because it has more length to it than other brands. I find my children grow too long for their bodysuits long before their shoulders, head and tummy do, which is quite frustrating. The soft material is also super stretchy.

It’s the perfect outfit for daughters of dads who have an aversion to frilly, pink things. (Side observation - what is it with dads banning pink clothes? They’re totally cool with their sons being gender-stereotyped into wearing blue. Why do they baulk at pink for their daughters?)

These bodysuits are on sale at the moment – more than 50% off, in fact. I’m very tempted to buy the boys’ rocket one and put Orion in it regardless. Rockets are a favourite in our household and I figure we can get away with it given Orion is named after a constellation.

I waited until the worst of Orion’s face rash before taking this photo. It’s clearing up nicely – finally. I’m also glad her rather odd hairdo is blending into the photo’s background. She has a lengthy patch on her crown that sits up like that of a baby orang-utan. I’m just glad you can’t see her matching mullet.
